Recharge your energy with the natural beauty and positive vibes of an early morning kayaking adventure on the river.

We begin at dawn in Tamarin Bay, where the river meets the sea, paddling as the sun rises and its golden light reflects on the calm, mirror-like water. This breathtaking scenery, with the sun emerging behind the Rempart and 3 Mamelles mountains, offers a serene sanctuary of birds, wildlife, and untouched beauty.

The experience will conclude back at our starting point, leaving you refreshed and inspired.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome & briefing (10 min)
    Meet your guide at Tamarin Bay at dawn for a quick safety briefing and introduction to your kayak. Learn the basics of kayaking before setting off.
  • Paddle upstream (30 min)
    Glide through calm waters as the sun begins to rise. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings while spotting birds and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
  • Explore & learn (30 min)
    Continue paddling while putting your new kayaking skills into practice. Listen to stories about the history of Tamarin from your local guide, and admire the golden light reflecting on the water.
  • Return downstream (20 min)
    Paddle back at a relaxed pace, soaking in the morning tranquility and the stunning scenery of Rempart and 3 Mamelles mountains.
  • Wrap-up (5–10 min)
    Arrive back at the starting point, where your guide will help you out of the kayaks and share any final insights or tips about the river and its surroundings.

Meeting Point

The meeting point is at the Veranda Tamarin boat house. Your guide will be wearing a green t-shirt with “Yanature” written on it.

Know before you go

  • Activity is subject to weather conditions
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Basic swimming skills recommended
  • The guide will be the only contact person on the day of the tour, you will receive the guide’s contact details upon booking or on the eve of the activity date by email (make sure to check your spams if you did not receive the email)

The cost was very good value. Our guide, Gilles, was really helful and friendly. We have kayaked many times before but the trip on these gentle rivers was easy for anyone. A very calm experience

The exciting hiking le morne mountain

Jilles was our guide of this hiking Le morne mountain. He was very nice to us, and explained the mauritian history and some plants. He also cared how tired we were during hiking. (some rest, drink water …)we walked round of this mountain so we got to see beautiful views at each good spots. we are so grateful that we had this experience, which is one of hilight of our travel. Thank you !!

The adventure, waterfalls and the team behind everything, were the best. We had so much fun together, talked a lot and felt very save. A must do on mauritius if you are seeking for adrenaline and a story to tell your friends.

Nicolas and Gregory were brilliant professionals from start to finish with a keen eye on safety at all times. Felt safe under their lead. Great characters with a lovely humour. They guided us through some nervy moments with ease and patience which allowed everyone to enjoy and get the most out of the experience.

All kit provided. And even took photos along the journey for us as well as carrying out water on such a hot day!

Brilliant experience 🙂
