About the Tour

The west coast is known for its beautiful sunsets, which adorn the late afternoon sky with its warm colors of all shades of yellows, oranges, and reds. Experiencing the kayak trip in the late afternoon on the Tamarin River is exceptional.

As the sun approaches the horizon, we row toward the heart of the river, towards the North.
Everything calms down, and this silence is only interrupted by the last songs of birds.

With a cold drink in hand, we marvel at the thousands of colorful reflections. Then the show can begin with the golden sunset and the genesis of a sweet tropical night.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome & briefing (10 min)
    Meet your guide at Tamarin Bay for a quick safety briefing and introduction to your kayak.

  • Paddle upstream (30 min)
    Glide into the calm waters of the river, leaving the ocean behind. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and observe the evening wildlife along the riverbanks.

  • Sunset on the river (30 min)
    Pause mid-river with a refreshing drink in hand as the sky turns golden and fiery. Admire the stunning reflections on the water and the silhouettes of surrounding mountains.

  • Return downstream (20 min)
    Paddle back at a relaxed pace, soaking in the last colors of the sunset as the tropical night begins.

  • People with limited mobility (getting in and out of the kayak is required)

Meeting Point

The meeting point is at the Veranda Tamarin boat house. Your guide will be wearing a green t-shirt with “Yanature” written on it.

Know before you go

  • No prior kayaking experience is required – your guide will give you a full briefing before we start.
  • The activity is suitable for most fitness levels, but you should be comfortable on the water.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Life jackets are provided and must be worn during the tour.
  • Wildlife sightings are common but can’t be guaranteed.
  • The tour may be rescheduled or adapted in case of strong wind, heavy rain, or unsafe river conditions.

瀑降非常好玩，完全不危险。有绳降，有zip line，有游泳，有跳水（害怕可以不跳，绳降下去）。有3个工作人员提供保护，帮你拍照，背水。照片下午会发给你，且没有额外费用。个人觉得比徒步要更好玩些，100%推荐。Very good experience, not dangerous.Have 3 guys to protect you and take photo. The skill is not difficult to learn. Best way to visit the Tamarind Falls, 100% recommend.

Lovely walk in nature

Bird watching tour in the Black River Gorges NP with Yudish. A lovely early morning walk through the woods. Lucky enough to see a rare Mauritian kestrel and some other lovely animals. Nature facts from Yudish kept us informed and entertained!

Great afternoon hike

Well led and fun hike up Le Morne Brabant with our guide Yudish. Steep climb at the end is pretty challenging but the view is well worth it.
