About the Tour
Explore Tamarin river on this guided kayak tour. See the various wildlife that resides in the river, as you paddle along untouched nature and calm waters.
Start kayaking at the very spot where the river meets the ocean, also known as Tamarin Bay, which is famous for its mythical wave. Paddle upstream the calm waters and discover the two main arms of the river.
On one side the Rempart and the Trois Mamelles mountains, and on the other, the magnificent mountain of La Tourelle. The surrounding natural habitat boasts lush greenery as well as abundant wildlife. Throughout your journey, we may encounter moorhens, ducks, long-billed birds, flying foxes, or even monkeys.

What you’ll do

Welcome & briefing (15 min)
Meet your guide at Tamarin Bay, where the river meets the ocean. After a short safety briefing and introduction to your kayak, get ready to set off on your adventure. -
Paddle upstream (45 min)
Leave the waves behind and glide into calm waters. As you paddle gently upstream, take in the serenity of the river and watch local fishermen at work along the banks. -
Explore the two river arms (1h)
On one side, enjoy breathtaking views of the Rempart and Trois Mamelles mountains. On the other, admire the striking La Tourelle. Along the way, keep your eyes open for moorhens, ducks, long-billed birds, flying foxes and even monkeys. -
Return downstream (30 min)
Drift back at a relaxed pace, surrounded by peaceful nature and mountain scenery, until you reach the bay once again. -
Wrap-up (5–10 min)
Arrive back at the starting point, where your guide will help you out of the kayaks and share some final insights and stories about the area.

Meeting Point
The meeting point is at the Veranda Tamarin boat house. Your guide will be wearing a green t-shirt with “Yanature” written on it.
Know before you go
- No prior kayaking experience is required – your guide will give you a full briefing before we start.
- The activity is suitable for most fitness levels, but you should be comfortable on the water.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Life jackets are provided and must be worn during the tour.
- Wildlife sightings are common but can’t be guaranteed.
- The tour may be rescheduled or adapted in case of strong wind, heavy rain, or unsafe river conditions.
- The guide will be the only contact person on the day of the tour, you will receive the guide’s contact details upon booking or on the eve of the activity date by email (make sure to check your spams if you did not receive the email).

Great hike with Jordan
We had Jordan as guide and had great hike with him on Le Morne Brabant on April 11. He gave very interesting information, was good with guiding the group and had good jokes.
An unforgettable hike
Yesterday, my Husband and I climbed Le Morne Brabant with our wonderful guide, Paj.
We were both quite apprehensive beforehand after seeing how steep the mountain was and the mention of ‘scrambling’. However, it was incredible, so much better than we had imagined. At no point did we feel unsafe and Paj was great at guiding us through the tough parts.
We had initially contemplated doing it on our own, but I don’t think we would have completed it without Paj.
He was really informative and showed us all the best view points.
We would 100% recommend booking Yanature.

It was amazing
I want to say thank you to our guide.Rowin, thank you for your support and help. This was our first haijking. Places were difficult, but thanks to you we climbed to the top of the mountain. Landscapes wonderful.
Hike on the top of the world
We Met up with our Guide Rowin at 6 am and startet the hike, he was very caring and precautious with us and so we went fast and in good shape to the top!
