Discover the beauty of Mauritius from the water on a guided morning kayak adventure to Benitiers Island. Starting from the west coast, you’ll paddle across crystal-clear waters with panoramic views of the iconic Le Morne Brabant, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This journey takes you through the turquoise lagoon, where the calm morning sea offers ideal paddling conditions. Along the way, stop at the legendary Crystal Rock, a volcanic formation rising dramatically from the lagoon—perfect for photos. You’ll then continue to Benitiers Island, where you can relax on its white sandy shores, enjoy a swim, or simply soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Here, you’ll also be treated to a light continental breakfast, making your beach stop even more relaxing.

What you’ll do

Meet & Brief (10–15 min)
Meet your guide at the launch point. Safety briefing, gear fitting, and paddling techniques. Life vests are provided. -
Lagoon Paddle (30–40 min)
Cross the crystal-clear lagoon at a steady pace, enjoying the surrounding coral reef and views of Le Morne. -
Crystal Rock Stop (15–20 min)
Pause at the famous Crystal Rock for photos and stories about this unique formation. -
Island Landing (30–45 min)
Arrive at Benitiers Island. Enjoy time to rest, swim, or explore its natural beauty. -
Return Paddle (30–40 min)
Kayak back across the lagoon, soaking up the scenery. -
Wrap-Up (5 min)
Gear return, debrief, and farewell. Photos or clips taken by the guide may be shared after the tour.

- Maximum weight: 100 kg per person
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Recommended maximum age: 65 years old
- Tours may be adjusted or rescheduled depending on tides, currents, or weather
- The guide will be the only contact person on the day of the tour before 8:00am (our office is closed from 5:30 pm to 8:30 am. You will receive the guide’s contact details upon booking or on the eve of the activity date by email (make sure to check your spams if you did not receive the email)

Guided Tour with Gilles

Gilles is an excellent guide. He shared interesting insights about the flora, fauna, and surroundings, and at the same time made sure we felt safe and comfortable, especially in the more challenging sections. His calm and attentive approach made the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend him.
Unforgettable hike!
Decided very last minute to go on a 4am sunrise hike of Le Morne to catch sunrise at the top and Yanature were very accommodating and fast to respond and to find my fabulous guide Henri to take me. It was an incredible experience and one of the best memories of my trip to Mauritius. I highly recommend going for sunrise as we had the entire mountain to ourselves and only started to encounter groups on the descent. Henri was an amazing guide, chatty knowledgeable and calm which was a great support towards the top when you’re scrambling. A wonderful experience and a fantastic guide.

Highly Recommend the Sunrise Hike
Challenging but completely safe — I absolutely loved this hike.
Our guide, Paj, was fantastic. He was incredibly helpful, carefully pointing out the best way to navigate the trickier sections and making sure everyone felt confident
I highly recommend booking the sunrise hike. We had a super small group and didn’t see anyone else on the trail — we even had the summit entirely to ourselves. The views were breathtaking, and the sunrise colours were unforgettable.
