About the Tour

Discover one of Mauritius’ most spectacular natural sites with a hike to Tamarind Falls, also known as the “7 Cascades.” Hidden in the island’s lush interior, this trail leads you through tropical forest, sugarcane fields, and down into a canyon where some of the tallest waterfalls of Mauritius await.

Over about three hours, you’ll explore five of the thirteen waterfalls that make up this stunning site, including the famous Tamarind Falls with a total height of nearly 300 meters. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of surrounding mountains, rivers, and gorges.

Take the chance to swim in natural rock pools carved by the cascades, and let your guide share stories about Mauritius’ history as well as insights into its unique flora and fauna.

The hike is accessible to most but includes some steep and rugged sections, making it a rewarding adventure for nature lovers and anyone wishing to experience a wilder side of Mauritius.

Le Morne with Paj

Feb 04, 2026
We had an absolutely fantastic experience hiking Le Morne under Paj’s guidance. Paj was extremely kind, professional, and explained everything clearly and patiently. Thanks to his calm approach and excellent leadership, even less experienced members of our group managed the hike comfortably.

What made the tour even more special was Paj’s knowledge of Mauritian flora. Along the way, he shared many interesting facts and insights that enriched the experience.

I would also like to highlight the early start time of the hike, which was a brilliant decision. We were the very first group to begin and reached the summit about 30 minutes before everyone else. Experiencing the top of Le Morne in complete peace, almost alone, was absolutely phenomenal. Later on, the summit becomes very crowded, which makes it much harder to fully enjoy the moment or take great photos. This early start made all the difference.

Thank you once again for an unforgettable experience. I would happily go on another hike with Paj anytime and highly recommend him to anyone considering Le Morne.

a relaxing paddle up the river

Feb 03, 2026
Our guide Eliza was efficient at getting us on to the water and we had a very pleasant paddle up the river in a tandem kayak.

You don't need to be an experienced kayaker. The other couple with us weren't and they managed fine.

It was low tide and the river was quite low in places, but it didn't cause any big issue.

Do wear factor 50 suncream and a hat or you will get tosted. Take water as well.
